I grew up in an entrepreneurial family in Denmark and left home at 18 to help build what would become BoConcept, an international furniture brand with over 270 stores worldwide.

 

For two decades, I led growth and expansion across the US and Asia—launching more than 20 stores in the US, driving turnarounds in Japan and China, and nearly tripling sales across a network of 50+ stores in Asia. I worked closely with franchisees and international teams, all while balancing growth targets, cross-cultural leadership, and high expectations.

 

But behind the scenes, I often felt overwhelmed. Despite the success, the pace was unsustainable. I burned out after the sale of the company and entered a period of deep reflection and reinvention.

That journey taught me to reconnect with what really matters—balance, emotional intelligence, and sustainable success. I learned to listen to my body, understand emotions—my own and others’—and rebuild a way of working that fuels well-being, not just results.
